Language Requirements

Category Freshmen/Transfer Students
Korean Language Courses ▶ Must fulfill one or more of the following:

1) Official Test of Proficiency in Korean (TOPIK/TOPIK IBT) Level 3 (or higher)
2) Sejong Institute Korean Intermediary Level 1 and above (online courses are not accepted)
3) Completion of Level 3 (or higher) in a program at a Korean Language Institute affiliated with a university located in Korea.
4) Applicant whose Korean language proficiency is approved by USW’s Office of International Affairs
English Track (Bilingual Program) ▶ Must fulfill one or more of the following:

1) IELTS 5.5 or CEFR B2 (or higher)
2) TOEFL PBT 530 (CBT 197, iBT 59) (or higher)
3) TEPS score of 601 (NEW TEPS score of 327) (or higher)
4) Holds citizenship from a country where English is the native language (United States, United Kingdom, Ireland, Canada, Australia, or New Zealand)
5) Applicants who have completed secondary and higher education in countries where English is the native language*.

* English-speaking countries (7): the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Ireland, South Africa, Australia, and New Zealand
